Primary Function

Has full responsibility for the management and leadership of a field project.  Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions with assistance from department heads
  •  Implement and monitor safety program to insure that jobsite safety results equal or exceed corporate goals and Client’s expectations
  • Represent company in project meetings with Client and governmental agencies
  • Coordinates project activities complying with government regulatory or other governmental agencies
  • Monitors and ensures quality control and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule with prescribed budget
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project
  • Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of divisional and corporate policy
  • Responsible for personnel matters relative to jobsite salaried personnel
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, equipment, income/costs, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client
  • Create and maintain a contract administration system with the assistance of the Office Manager and other staff members to record and document the project progress, agreements, and payments

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4 year college degree (engineering preferred) or equivalent, plus extensive (10 or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required. 
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities; must be business oriented
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
