Primary Function

Has full direct supervisory responsibility for the total field construction effort

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise total construction effort in the field to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
  • Interface with client representatives and other contractors
  • Responsible for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of project
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors
  • Provide technical assistance to craft superintendents and foreman regarding construction methods and equipment
  • Ensure all field personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules; document all violations and recommend/implement corrective actions as required
  • Coordinate and assist with development of project schedule;  responsible for performance of the work in accordance with the approved schedule

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive (10 or more years) experience/knowledge of construction methods and management
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance; superior communication and interpersonal skills
