Commuter Rail Projects

The development of commuter rail services has become popular today, with the increased public awareness of congestion. Despite the array of challenges typically encountered constructing a commuter rail in an existing corridor, Stacy and Witbeck has been successful at this work.
Currently, we are the managing JV Partner for UTA’s FrontRunner Commuter rail system. These systems travel at higher speeds, with fewer stops, targeting commuter population in outlying areas. The work typically spans several city, county, and utility jurisdictions requiring significant coordination. Existing railroad corridors are routinely used, requiring familiarity and respect for the operating freight railroad to operate efficiently in their environment. The equipment is routinely diesel electric locomotives with towed coaches, often in a push pull arrangement.
