Partnerships

Stacy and Witbeck Inc.

Our philosophy is to commit ourselves to "partnering" on every project we undertake. While many recent projects have utilized a formal "partnering" program, "partnering" is much more than a program to Stacy and Witbeck people - it is simply how we conduct our business.

The commitment to "partnering" begins at the highest levels in our Company. We believe in joining in a partnership with the customer as early in the project development process as possible. We prefer to propose on projects on a "best value" basis and to begin services during the early design phases.

We pride ourselves in being able to identify problem areas in advance of events which would put a projects' schedule and budget at risk. We believe in maintaining open and consistent lines of communication with the various stakeholders involved in a project as well as the owner. Good communications are critical for a successful project, for containment of cost, and adherence to the schedule.

We also believe in developing a sincere level of mutual trust with our customers and think that our ability to exude fair, professional and honest dealings helps us earn the trust required for true partnering. In summary we think the keys to successful partnering are "commitment", "early involvement", "open communications", and "mutual trust".

Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. began heavy civil construction in San Francisco in 1981. Within a short time, the company expanded its operations to include track-work, and soon became recognized as one of the Bay Area’s leading contractors in light rail, cable car, and trolley line construction.

Joint Ventures

Stacy and Witbeck Inc.

Many of the projects Stacy and Witbeck undertakes are large and complex. Typical to our industry, we think it makes good business sense to enter Joint Ventures with other construction firms for these large and complex projects. Doing so allows the Joint Venture partners to take advantage of the technical expertise, resources, ability to share risk and good business practices each party brings to the Joint Venture.

In addition to the above, Stacy and Witbeck looks at a prospective partner's willingness to enter a dispute-free relationship with the customer.
