Unique Features
- CM/GC project
- Extensive structural modifications to nearly 100-year-old Portland landmark bascule Broadway Bridge. Include lead paint abatement and repainting
- CM/GC procurement method
- Flyover Bridge of UPRR and Oregon Pacific RR
- Alignment runs atop I-5 and I-84 overpasses and atop a bridge passing over existing TriMet double light rail track
- Majority of alignment passes through Central Eastside industrial district homes to over 15,000 jobs
- At grade crossing of existing TriMet MAX at two (2) locations
- Completed work will allow use of a new prototype Streetcar vehicle made in Oregon
- City of Portland’s first time use of federal FTA funds to construct an extension of the Streetcar system, and, as a result requires DBE participation
- New 11,000 sf Vehicle Maintenance Facility
- Multiple new turnouts and crosses at active Streetcar and TriMet alignments.
- New alignment has twenty-five (25) stops
- Nearly all track work is concrete encased Ri52 girder rail from Austria
